Go inside the fences and shoot in the enclosed area!
There is! It’s next to Four-Seasons hotel.
No problem, happy to help out. Sounds good, tell me when you are in Hong Kong and we can work something out!
Hi there, I saw that as well! I think it’s on Caine Road, but it’s probably a chain. Nope, I am not related to it. But what a coincidence—I don’t know anyone else whose last name is Engel!
Sorry I don’t know what answer you want for this.
It’s in Central Government Pier in Central. I rarely leave Hong Kong island to shoot.
It’s actually a small road in Mid-Levels. It looks rather mountainous and spacious but it actually isn’t!
I was really lucky! My first agency model was Marta Cikojevic with Ford Models.
Thank you so much!
For sure, 50mm f/1.8 is great for portraits! Actually, a slightly better lens would be 50mm f/1.4. I’ve heard that 85mm is good as well but I don’t have full frame lens so it becomes really zoomed.
Thank you so much, it really means a lot to me to hear this. It actually made my day!
I don’t normally shoot anywhere in particular; I try to shoot in different places every time. In the past I have shot in Victoria Peak, Victoria Park, Central Government Pier. I would say go for the 60D especially because in places with low levels of light, the pictures still turn out very detailed. Other benefits with the 60D are that the shutter speed is faster—1/8000 vs 1/4000, less shutter lag (253 ms vs 283 ms), longer battery life (1100 shots vs. 400 shots) and shoots faster (5.3 fps vs 3.7 fps). On the other hand, advantages of the 600D include that it is lighter, slightly cheaper and smaller.
Of course, it would always be for me :) I’m not studying photography at university, I prefer to study something academic.
I see, so you are starting GCSE right? You want to be a fashion photographer? Happy to help out!
HI! Well it is all about managing your time. I shoot a lot, but I also care a lot about my studies so I work really hard, train swimming and tennis and join a lot of extra-curriculars inside and outside school. For me, I shoot around once a week and I have now built it in my schedule, so I make time around it. I mark down dates of my photoshoots and write a timetable of what work I have to do each day. What year are you in? You live in Hong Kong right? Your photos are really stunning, but I have picked up a few tips for you. Firstly, do you use auto-focus or manual-focus, you see in this picture: http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz6hkyJXDT1r8avtgo1_1280.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJ6IHWSU3BX3X7X3Q&Expires=1329222999&Signature=yWw%2B%2FXqQLWd8A7z8N8Y%2BdJ8cbVM%3D the focus is on the background instead of the model. Secondly, you have to work a bit on your angles. For example: http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz6h1ensqE1r8avtgo1_1280.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJ6IHWSU3BX3X7X3Q&Expires=1329223043&Signature=pTwpiiXJ9XhSijHWEXsUKAMw7Ts%3D , the picture may look a bit better if the model tilted her head to the right. I really like this concept: http://s3.amazonaws.com/data.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz6iv9ft8Q1r8avtgo1_1280.jpg?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJ6IHWSU3BX3X7X3Q&Expires=1329223053&Signature=Dt4Qos4vDGCsVkd8FHtQNUXYZeE%3D however you could have opened your aperture larger (f-stop) so more light would come in. Then the picture would look really cool! I hope that helps dear.
Hi! Well I am a Canon user, so of course I would say go for Canon. I use Canon 500D and it’s great. I think now they have up to 600D so I would say go for that. There isn’t much difference, just extra functions that you probably won’t use. I really don’t know much about Nixon, so I can’t give you much advice about that. Honestly, I don’t really know what you mean by ‘tips’. It is just too ambiguous; if you want to be a fashion photographer, start with shooting your friends then build up to doing agency tests for your portfolio. Thanks!
Nope, I use an external flash—430EXII.
I started when I was 16/17 :) So it’s been just about a year.
Canon 50mm f/1.4 and 17-55mm f/2.8 (I use this one more often.)
Only on special occasions! I gave out a free curve on my 18th birthday.
Yes, I used external Canon flash from my Uncle. I’m planning to get Canon 580EXII. Borrowed my Uncle’s flash for too long…
Victoria Park, Central Government Pier, the peak from the top of my head. Scroll down. I’ve answered this question many times before so you might find another answer!
